Following an earlier Advent themed post, here are some further cries of Advent inspired by winter walking encounters and the creatures on the Trans Pennine Trail.<\/p>\n

O Bouncing squirrel,
\nSetting off on your highway through the trees,
\nYou remind me of the Forerunner,
\nMaking straight the Advent Way.
\nYour energetic journey is like the highway of our God.
\nAs we remember the Baptiser,
\nMay we too bounce along to announce
\nThe One who is to come.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

O Nervous nuthatch
\nHiding in the bare branches,
\nI see your timid hop
\nAs you try to gague the gap.
\nMay we who also know timidity,
\nTake courage from your agility:
\nLiving the balanced life,
\nTake the risks to which we are called,
\nAnd, nervous or not,
\nGreet the One who comes
\nTo bridge the gap
\nAnd bring Creation back to balance.<\/p>\n
